Happy National Chiropractic Health Month

Oct 16, 2014

October is National Chiropractic Health Month and we are celebrating health all over the nation. National Chiropractic Health Month is sponsored by the American Chiropractic Association to raise awareness about chiropractic care and the services that it provides. If you deal with back, neck or shoulder pain, or even other injuries or conditions that slow you down, chiropractic care may be the treatment you need in order to return to your normal, pain- life.

What Is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic care is a natural way of treating bones, muscles and nerves while improving your body’s health in the process. One of the more common chiropractic treatments is spinal manipulation, also known as a chiropractic adjustment. A chiropractor will adjust your spine in order to straighten it, relieving pain for numerous areas of your body. Methods of chiropractic care include:

  • Spinal Manipulation Therapy
  • Spinal Decompression
  • Traction Therapy
  • Electrical Stimulation
  • Heat Therapy
  • Exercise Programs

What Can Chiropractic Care Treat?

Chiropractic care can treat a number of physical conditions that cause you significant pain. Chiropractic treatments hit the source of your pain to reduce its severity while preventing it from returning. Here are just a few of the wide variety of ailments that chiropractic care can relieve:

  • Back Pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Shoulder Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Herniated or Bulging Discs
  • Whiplash
  • Scoliosis

These are only a handful of the many conditions that chiropractors treat everyday.

Why Is Chiropractic Care Important?

While many doctors tend to solve problems by prescribing painkillers or surgery, chiropractic care works to fix any pain-causing issue without resorting to these invasive solutions. Chiropractic treatment offers you an alternative option to pills and surgery that not only alleviates your pain, but also prevents it from coming back.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Not only is October National Chiropractic Health Month, but we are also celebrating National Breast Cancer Awareness Month to boost awareness of breast cancer and raise money to find a cure. While chiropractic care and breast cancer wouldn’t seem to be related, chiropractic care is one way to deal with the pain from breast cancer treatments.

Many cancer treatments, in addition to the cancer itself, places a lot of stress and pressure on your body. This extra stress can cause pain and weaken your body. Chiropractic care works to reduce the additional pressure and relieve stress. Chiropractic treatment not only calms down the pain, but also restores health to other parts of your body.

Our motto for this year is “Conservative Care First”, promoting the idea that complicated procedures aren’t always the answer to good health. Visit your local chiropractor today to find out what conservative health options are right for you.
