What Is Spinal Decompression?

Spinal decompression therapy is a type of motorized traction that may help reduce back pain. This treatment works by lightly stretching the spine, which changes the position and force of the spine.
This change reduces pressure on the spinal discs, which are gel-like buffers located between the bones in your spine, by creating negative pressure in the disc.
As a result, herniated or bulging discs may recede, taking pressure off nerves and other structures in your spine.
