LinkedInFacebookInstagramXPinterestYoutube

The type of physical stress that construction workers are exposed to on a consistent basis makes them vulnerable to chronic conditions like back pain.

Back pain is the most common condition our Atlanta Chiropractors treat and a significant portion of our patients comprise of manual laborers or construction crews. According to the U.S. Burea of Labor Statistics, back pain the primary cause of missed work, causing hundreds of millions of dollars to be spent in healthcare costs.

Construction Workers and Back Pain

Back injuries are often caused by overuse, carrying heavy objects without proper equipment, and physical trauma. Because many construction sites require its employees to perform heavy labor and are susceptible to accidents due to the environmental conditions, construction workers are more prone to experiencing back pain than other occupations.

Our Atlanta Chiropractors specialize in treating musculoskeletal injuries and chronic conditions like back pain. We offer a variety of useful treatment solutions that are natural, painless, and do not contain any adverse side effects. Our typical approach to treating chronic back pain and back injuries consists:

  • A complete examination to determine the location, depth, and general properties of your pain
  • A series of Chiropractic Adjustments or spinal manipulation
  • Light exercises and stretches you can perform at home to compliment your office treatment sessions
  • Deep tissue massage if necessary

Chronic Back Pain For Construction Workers

Construction workers are constantly exposed to environmental conditions and position requirements that put them at a higher risk for experiencing chronic back pain. Lifting heavy objects for hours, remaining in one position for n extended period, and whole body vibration place a significant amount of stress on your body’s foundation, including your spine.

Environmental considerations like surface conditions and obstacles increase the chances of experiencing an accident or pulling one of your back muscles. Because of these variables, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reports that construction workers experience more back injuries than any other profession in the United States.

Atlanta Chiropractic Treatment for Construction Workers

Common Chiropractic solutions for construction workers who suffer from chronic back pain consist of a combination of manual therapies and stabilization exercises.

Trigger-point therapy helps improve mobility and blood flow, which is useful for reducing inflammation. Chiropractic Adjustments or spinal manipulation helps realign particular bones or muscles that have moved out of their natural position because of trauma or ongoing stress. By repositioning your vertebrae or back muscles into their original locations, our Atlanta Chiropractors can stimulate your body’s ability to heal itself.

Determining the most appropriate back pain treatment for your needs will require a complete examination.

Yesterday was my last day at AICA College Park since my accident in December, there is so much to say about the people who work here and the level of customer service, care, attention, friendliness, and overall amazing atmosphere that they provide. Location is perfect in College Park, right off the highway and in a small plaza with plenty of parking. The entire staff, from the front desk girls, to the physical therapy girls, to the chiros, and the medical team are AMAZING! I feel like I just lost my friends not being able to visit them twice a week every week. I will definitely miss coming here. All the smiles and warm welcomes received. The physical therapy - asking about my day, if everything is okay and helping my back and neck get better. I had the pleasure of having Dr. Hector as my chiropractor, he is awesome, was very helpful in the healing process and also a native Spanish speaker which is a plus for those of us who do speak Spanish. Before coming to AICA, I tried another injury clinic in ATL and walked out after 5 mins - so impersonal and cold. I am so glad that I found AICA in College Park. Trust me, if you are injured and need some healing and TLC you NEED to come to this clinic! Highly recommend to everyone. Thank you again to the guys and girls at AICA - xo Ms. Colon
