Warm up your body

Before you head outside to work, make sure to give your body enough time to properly warm up. Spend five to ten minutes stretching, performing body squats, lunges, and shoulder exercises to get your ligaments and muscles prepared for the job ahead.

For instance, if you are rotating your body to the left side as you rake, pause once in a while to take a drink of water, stretch, and adjust your position so you are now rotating to the right side.
