Try These Three Tips For Treating Your Next Headache In Atlanta

LinkedInFacebookInstagramXPinterestYoutube

Headaches serve as an indication that your body is either in a low shortage of or completely deprived of something it needs.

Whether it’s rest after a strenuous workout, consuming enough water throughout the day, or even the type of environment you’re exposed to, headaches suggest that there is some vitamin/nutrient deficiency that is causing tension to build.

Atlanta Chiropractic treatment for headaches is available for anyone who experiences this condition on a regular basis.

Common Causes of Headaches

Some of the more common triggers for headaches include, but are not limited to:

  • allergies
  • stress
  • poor posture
  • alcohol
  • drugs
  • hormones
  • low blood sugar
  • nutritional deficiencies
  • fatigue.

In general, your body is trying to signal to you that something in your lifestyle needs to change.

Most patients only try and mask the initial pain they experience by taking some over the counter drug (OTC). Too often, this type of treatment is overused, while more serious underlying issues are ignored or overlooked due to the masking agents found in OTC pills.

If you find yourself suffering from painful headaches more than three times a week, you might want to schedule an examination with one of our Chiropractors right away.

You can also try to incorporate one of the following methods into your natural routine, to lower the frequency for which you experience your headaches in Atlanta.

Gluten- DietMix Of Breads

Studies show a direct correlation between people who are sensitive to gluten in their diet and the onset of painful headaches.

In fact, the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness found that patients who have celiac disease and have not been properly diagnosed, often see a complete loss of headaches and migraines once they have changed their diet.

Even if you don’t have celiac disease, but are sensitive to gluten, cutting back on your daily intake is known to cut down on the volume of headaches you experience significantly.

Try to eliminate gluten from your daily diet for three weeks before slowly reintroducing foods that contain this substance. Pay close attention to how you feel as you begin to add gluten back into your diet, to see if there is in fact, a direct correlation between this substance and your health.

Atlanta Chiropractic Treatment For Headaches

Chiropractic treatment focuses on providing holistic solutions that address the root causes of conditions, rather than mask existing pain or provide temporary relief.

Treatment is usually drug and surgery-, and your Chiropractor can reduce the level of oxidative stress that’s contained within your body, similar to what an antioxidant does.

Oxidative stress describes the damage that takes place when radicals outnumber your body’s antioxidants. It can damage all of your body cell components like proteins, DNA cells, and lipids.

Studies show that the use of spaniel manipulation therapy can be useful for treating headaches. In one particular study, 22% of those who received Chiropractic adjustments claimed more than a 90% reduction in headaches, while another 49% reported that the intensity of their headaches dramatically diminished after just a few adjustments.

The reason is that adjustments and spinal manipulations help reduce built up, stored stress throughout your body. Simply put, Chiropractic adjustments eliminates tension that directly leads to the onset of migraines.

Increasing Your Daily Dosage of Magnesium

Magnesium is known as one of the most powerful headache treatments and contains less harmful side effects than traditional painkillers.

People who suffer from frequent headaches or migraines usually have low levels of magnesium, which is often associated with patients who suffer from heart disease, alcoholism, and diabetes.

Taking 300 – 600 mg of this supplement on a daily basis can help reduce the number of headaches you experience, and both oral and intravenous forms are widely available to the public.

Magnesium can help prevent brain signaling from taking place, which is a condition that is often referred to as cortical spreading depression. This type of medical condition can lead to sensory and visual adaptations that are typical when suffering from a headache or a migraine.

This particular mineral helps block the transmitters that send out painful signals to your brain and can improve platelet function, which helps your body react to injuries and prevent excessive bleeding.

Yesterday was my last day at AICA College Park since my accident in December, there is so much to say about the people who work here and the level of customer service, care, attention, friendliness, and overall amazing atmosphere that they provide. Location is perfect in College Park, right off the highway and in a small plaza with plenty of parking. The entire staff, from the front desk girls, to the physical therapy girls, to the chiros, and the medical team are AMAZING! I feel like I just lost my friends not being able to visit them twice a week every week. I will definitely miss coming here. All the smiles and warm welcomes received. The physical therapy - asking about my day, if everything is okay and helping my back and neck get better. I had the pleasure of having Dr. Hector as my chiropractor, he is awesome, was very helpful in the healing process and also a native Spanish speaker which is a plus for those of us who do speak Spanish. Before coming to AICA, I tried another injury clinic in ATL and walked out after 5 mins - so impersonal and cold. I am so glad that I found AICA in College Park. Trust me, if you are injured and need some healing and TLC you NEED to come to this clinic! Highly recommend to everyone. Thank you again to the guys and girls at AICA - xo Ms. Colon
