What To Do After A Car Accident

LinkedInFacebookInstagramXPinterestYoutube

An accident happens in a split second but the after effects even days or weeks after can having you feeling like you are in a fog. Following an accident there is a giant to-do list things like handling medical issues, filing claims as well as figuring out what needs to be fixed on your vehicle and handling all that can be exhausting.

Post-Car Accident

Having the correct information and even with the help of a legal team the stress of the accident can potentially be minimized. After the accident occurs and the police have been contacted, follow this step-by-step guide to make this daunting process a little less overwhelming.

Step 1: Collect All The Information

When the accident occurs, gather as much information as you can as this will only help your case in the long run. Always exchange information with the other person including their insurance information and remember to take photos. When filing a claim, having all the information will make processing the claim a smoother process and less of a headache for you.

Step 2: Get To A Chiropractor

Above everything else, your health is the most important. There is an estimated 30 million individuals a year who are involved in car accidents and around 2 million end up needing some sort of medical care. Regardless if you think your injuries are minor, always see your doctor to have medical records on file in the event that your minor injury turns into something more severe.

Step 3: Seek Legal Counsel

After your health has been evaluated, contact a legal support team to help you through the legal aspects of your case. By having the support of a lawyer you will have all of your legal options laid out for you and give your case the best outcome possible.

Step 4: Contact Insurance Company

Always speak with an attorney first before making a claim through your insurance company. Having the support of the legal team will ensure that your insurance company is giving you everything they should and treating you fairly. This step is where all that evidence will come into play such as pictures and reports of the accident.

Step 5: Remain Patient

The process may seem daunting, but if you follow the steps and remain patient and trust in your lawyers advice, you will not be tricked into an early settlement.

Yesterday was my last day at AICA College Park since my accident in December, there is so much to say about the people who work here and the level of customer service, care, attention, friendliness, and overall amazing atmosphere that they provide. Location is perfect in College Park, right off the highway and in a small plaza with plenty of parking. The entire staff, from the front desk girls, to the physical therapy girls, to the chiros, and the medical team are AMAZING! I feel like I just lost my friends not being able to visit them twice a week every week. I will definitely miss coming here. All the smiles and warm welcomes received. The physical therapy - asking about my day, if everything is okay and helping my back and neck get better. I had the pleasure of having Dr. Hector as my chiropractor, he is awesome, was very helpful in the healing process and also a native Spanish speaker which is a plus for those of us who do speak Spanish. Before coming to AICA, I tried another injury clinic in ATL and walked out after 5 mins - so impersonal and cold. I am so glad that I found AICA in College Park. Trust me, if you are injured and need some healing and TLC you NEED to come to this clinic! Highly recommend to everyone. Thank you again to the guys and girls at AICA - xo Ms. Colon
