Atlanta Chiropractic Treatment For Low Impact Car Accidents

LinkedInFacebookInstagramXPinterestYoutube

A low impact car accident is often recognized as a collision that takes place at speeds less than 10 miles per hour (mph).

This particular kind of car accident usually causes minor damage to the vehicles involved.

Low Impact Car Accidents

Physical injuries can develop as a result of a low impact car accident based on the amount of force and impact that your body is exposed to, as well as the position you are in at the time of the collision.

Soft tissue damage is the most common injury for patients involved in a low impact accident.

If you are involved in a low impact collision, call the experienced Atlanta car accident injury Chiropractors at ACIA to avoid potential injuries that could lead to chronic pain or permanent damage.

Car Accident Injuries and Speed

A car accident that takes place at speeds between 1 and 10 mph often leads to minimal visible damage to the vehicles involved.

Sometimes because of the circumstances where neither car is critically damaged, any kind of pain either driver experiences tends to be forgotten or ignored. However, just because you may not initially notice any particular accident symptoms, it does not mean that you are in the clear.

Some kinds of injuries take several days, if not weeks to develop, which is why it is critical that you seek professional Chiropractic treatment immediately following a low impact accident.

Low Impact Car Accidents and Soft Tissue Damage

While most cars are built to absorb the impact of an accident that takes place between 5 to 10 mph, that is not the same case for your body.

The kind of momentum that exists when driving as slow as 10 mph can easily cause soft tissue damage which affects your ligaments, tendons, and muscles. Most soft tissue injuries are referred to as bruises or contusions, sprains, or strains.

Low Impact Car Accidents and Whiplash

General Motors (GM) conducted a test to measure the impact of accidents at speeds under eight mph.

The conclusion of their test discovered that injuries are possible while driving at such low speeds. The study also identified that Whiplash injuries are responsible for more than half of all injuries connected to car collisions.

Although these kinds of injuries are often classified as minor, approximately 30 percent of those harmed in low impact accidents experience chronic neck pain within three years of their collision. This condition is likely to be more strenuous in patients who are involved in a rear end collision.

Yesterday was my last day at AICA College Park since my accident in December, there is so much to say about the people who work here and the level of customer service, care, attention, friendliness, and overall amazing atmosphere that they provide. Location is perfect in College Park, right off the highway and in a small plaza with plenty of parking. The entire staff, from the front desk girls, to the physical therapy girls, to the chiros, and the medical team are AMAZING! I feel like I just lost my friends not being able to visit them twice a week every week. I will definitely miss coming here. All the smiles and warm welcomes received. The physical therapy - asking about my day, if everything is okay and helping my back and neck get better. I had the pleasure of having Dr. Hector as my chiropractor, he is awesome, was very helpful in the healing process and also a native Spanish speaker which is a plus for those of us who do speak Spanish. Before coming to AICA, I tried another injury clinic in ATL and walked out after 5 mins - so impersonal and cold. I am so glad that I found AICA in College Park. Trust me, if you are injured and need some healing and TLC you NEED to come to this clinic! Highly recommend to everyone. Thank you again to the guys and girls at AICA - xo Ms. Colon
