Chiropractic Treatment For Pinched Nerves

LinkedInFacebookInstagramXPinterestYoutube

For patients in Atlanta looking for Chiropractic treatment for pinched nerves, it’s important that you seek out professional attention, immediately.

This type of condition occurs when inflammation takes place around a compressed nerve and almost always results in some level of discomfort or pain.

The term itself serves as an ambiguous net that’s used to describe pain connected to some conditions that range from tunnel syndromes to subluxations. The reality of this is that these are what’s called, trigger pains, or sensations that feel as if they are in one area of the body but are derived from some another location.

On most occasions, patients believe that they have pinched a nerve when they have just irritated it. In these cases, your nerves have become inflamed or irritated as a direct result of when the bones, muscles, or joints of your spine become misaligned or are not properly functioning.

This is commonly referred to as a subluxation.

When your nerves are pinched, injury, inflammation of the surrounding muscles and connective tissue, or spasms cause your nerves to compress, resulting in painful, sometimes pulsing sensations.

Treating this condition, known as “tunnel syndromes,” can be complicated depending on the extent of your specific symptoms, but is usually resolved through basic, invasive Chiropractic techniques. When complemented with other forms of physical therapy, like stretching and exercising, most patients tend to experience a growth at a much faster rate.

Trigger Points and When To Seek Chiropractic Treatment

When tights “knots” begin to develop in your muscles after excessive user or injury, they become trigger points that feel like burning or pinching pain.

Trigger points often yield pain that shoots to other areas of your body, known as referred pain. Treatment typically includes a combination of Chiropractic techniques, deep tissue massage, and controlled stretching.

Because of the high risk associated with permanent nerve damage, it is imperative that you seek treatment as soon as possible so that your Chiropractor can correctly diagnose the cause of your pain.

What To Expect

Understanding what commonly goes into diagnosing and treating pinched nerves is essential for peace of mind, as well as understanding what options are available for your particular condition.

Most the time, when Chiropractors at AICA Atlanta come across patients who have pinched nerves, they perform a thorough orthopedic, physical, and neurological evaluation to diagnose the subluxation accurately.

Depending on the extent of the situation, your Chiropractor may request an X-ray with a view to determining the exact source and location of the subluxation in focus.

Controlled force may be applied by your doctor to implement slight adjustments to your back and spine, shifting your bones in a group direction to unwind and relax your nerves.

In general, these types of small injuries only require a few spinal manipulation visitations, while more sessions might be necessary for cases that involve chronic subluxations.

When proper alignment is achieved, your Chiropractor may suggest some rehabilitative treatments that apply directly to your lifestyle and general habits. Whether it’s changing the type of food you consume or getting you on a regular exercise routine, correcting your posture and releasing built up tension are a significant part of most lines of treatment.

How Chiropractic Care Helps

While traditional medicine typically treats the area where the pain is most apparent, Chiropractic treatment takes a more holistic perspective and focuses on your entire body.

When patients are suffering from pinched nerves, this concept is most beneficial because the pain you experience in one part of your body is being referred from another location.

Chiropractic services focus on diminishing nerve constriction and relaxing your muscles through spinal adjustments or pressure that’s applied to your strained nerves.

Yesterday was my last day at AICA College Park since my accident in December, there is so much to say about the people who work here and the level of customer service, care, attention, friendliness, and overall amazing atmosphere that they provide. Location is perfect in College Park, right off the highway and in a small plaza with plenty of parking. The entire staff, from the front desk girls, to the physical therapy girls, to the chiros, and the medical team are AMAZING! I feel like I just lost my friends not being able to visit them twice a week every week. I will definitely miss coming here. All the smiles and warm welcomes received. The physical therapy - asking about my day, if everything is okay and helping my back and neck get better. I had the pleasure of having Dr. Hector as my chiropractor, he is awesome, was very helpful in the healing process and also a native Spanish speaker which is a plus for those of us who do speak Spanish. Before coming to AICA, I tried another injury clinic in ATL and walked out after 5 mins - so impersonal and cold. I am so glad that I found AICA in College Park. Trust me, if you are injured and need some healing and TLC you NEED to come to this clinic! Highly recommend to everyone. Thank you again to the guys and girls at AICA - xo Ms. Colon
