Reduce Sciatic Pain

LinkedInFacebookInstagramXPinterestYoutube

If you are looking for relief from sciatic pain, chiropractic care is your solution. Unlike traditional medicine that relies heavily on prescription drugs and surgical treatment, chiropractic treats sciatica without exposing patients to potential adverse side effects. If you are interested in experiencing long-term or permanent pain relief, ongoing chiropractic care may be worth pursuing.

Chiropractic Care For Sciatic Pain

To decide whether chiropractic care is appropriate for your needs, contact AICA Atlanta to schedule a free consultation. If you decide to follow through with treatment after speaking with one of our chiropractors, there are additional actions you can take to complement your sessions and help address symptoms that may appear outside of the office.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture continues to grow in use and popularity throughout the United States. This particular therapy strategically places small needles in specific nerves to help reduce tension and pressure. Studies show that those who utilize acupuncture over prescription medication to treat sciatic pain experience longer-lasting relief.

Yoga and Stretching Techniques

If you suffer from sciatic pain, strenuous exercise has the potential to cause more harm than good. However, maintaining a sedentary lifestyle causes just as much damage or pain as overexerting your body. That’s why participating in a yoga or following through with controlled stretching techniques serve as excellent solutions for pain management. Stretching helps improve your posture and creates more flexibility in the spine. It also helps reduce inflammation.

Bathing In Epsom Salts

Soaking in a tub full of Epsom salts is a great, relaxing way to address sciatic pain. Not only do they help calm the nervous system, but they are also excellent for removing harmful toxins from the body. Resting in a warm bath helps reduce inflammation, improves blood circulation, and relaxes the body to reduce painful triggers.

Temperature Therapy

When applied appropriately, applying hot and cold surfaces to particular parts of the body can help increase blood circulation, relax constricted muscles, and numb existing pain. Using hot and cold therapy techniques interchangeably also helps reduce inflammation, muscle spams, and soothes tight tendons.

Diet

When inflammation occurs within the sciatic nerve, the most common result for patients is pain. One way to prevent inflammation is by maintaining a specific diet that is high in whole, organic foods such as green veggies, fish, and fruit.

Yesterday was my last day at AICA College Park since my accident in December, there is so much to say about the people who work here and the level of customer service, care, attention, friendliness, and overall amazing atmosphere that they provide. Location is perfect in College Park, right off the highway and in a small plaza with plenty of parking. The entire staff, from the front desk girls, to the physical therapy girls, to the chiros, and the medical team are AMAZING! I feel like I just lost my friends not being able to visit them twice a week every week. I will definitely miss coming here. All the smiles and warm welcomes received. The physical therapy - asking about my day, if everything is okay and helping my back and neck get better. I had the pleasure of having Dr. Hector as my chiropractor, he is awesome, was very helpful in the healing process and also a native Spanish speaker which is a plus for those of us who do speak Spanish. Before coming to AICA, I tried another injury clinic in ATL and walked out after 5 mins - so impersonal and cold. I am so glad that I found AICA in College Park. Trust me, if you are injured and need some healing and TLC you NEED to come to this clinic! Highly recommend to everyone. Thank you again to the guys and girls at AICA - xo Ms. Colon
